Wildflower Hearth Tapestry
This small woven wall hanging is made from a mix of my handspun yarn and an art yarn purchased from another spinner with a few textured fibers and a ribbon accent of sari silk. The colors feel a little moodier than some of my other pieces—plums, soft pinks, bits of cream, and deeper tones layered in—like wildflowers at the end of the season.
There’s a lot of texture throughout, with soft, bulky sections, little pops of color, and some airy, wispy fiber that adds a bit of contrast. The ribbon detail brings in a touch of warmth, and the longer fringe at the bottom gives it some movement.
It’s hung from a natural wood branch and, as always, is one of a kind. Mount this small accent piece by slipping the bottom edge of the driftwood onto a small nail. A hanger can be added, if desired.
